About Us

Theresa Dotts is the founder of QB Tests. She graduated from Interstate Business College in 1992 with a degree in Accounting. For the first 14 years of her accounting career, Theresa worked for several different businesses in various accounting capacities.
 
In 2006, Theresa started Accountings Essentials, LLC to provide clients with accounting consulting, tax preparation and QuickBooks training and support.  After only a few months, her business grew so quickly she sought out subcontractors to help her. 

Many of their clients had a common complaint – they all had a former bookkeeper that claimed to “know QuickBooks”.  Theresa began to research what options were available for her clients to test a bookkeeper before hiring them.  She found a couple of websites that offered QuickBooks testing but they only provided test scores and not any real feedback on a person’s abilities.  That is when she developed the concept behind this website!

Pat Crocker is the Operations Manager for QB Tests and the owner of Help U Accounting. She is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and has 30 years of bookkeeping experience.  For most of her career, Pat worked as an office manager and a controller for other companies. 

When she started her own business in 2007 she was absolutely amazed how little some of her clients and/or their bookkeepers knew about accounting, deadlines, payroll tax requirements, etc.  She spent many hours helping clients get their books in the proper order for their accountants, correcting all kinds of bizarre QuickBooks entries, and dealing with audits. 

This experience showed her that many business owners are very dependent on their bookkeeper and need a better way to find a knowledgeable bookkeeper. Pat is now the central manager for QBTests.com and provides all customer service for this site, test selection and test administration.
